A few Mondays ago, as I walked on Church Avenue and I passed the supermarket, at St. Paul’s St., I heard a lady having an interesting conversation on the phone. As I passed her I heard when she said to the person on the phone, ‘I can’t talk to you right now. You only call me when you want money. I’m not a bank! Goodbye.” As I heard that, I slightly looked through my right peripheral vision to take a mental snapshot of her face without her noticing. I wanted to experience the reaction on her face. She couldn’t be more frank. I agree with her. She certainly changed her accent as well as mine.If someone only calls you for money, their perception of you is no different from a bank. What do you think? Bank has rules that govern the prime source or thing, money that keeps the relationship going. If I don’t need money or have something related to it, do I need a bank? You already know the answer, no. So now the question is, if your friends, family or associates, whatever you call them, only need for calling you is to make a financial withdrawal; do you think keeping a relationship with that person is necessary? Let me know what you think.
