Recently I was in the studio working on a project with some musicians. As we worked, I noticed one of the engineers kept on asking me, how do you want it? Do you like that? He kept on asking a variety of those types of questions. After responding to those questions, I said to him, please do it as if you’re doing it for yourself. I said that hoping to get a break and allow the vibe to flow. Surprisingly it only lasts for a few minutes before another wave. After a while, it dawned on me that you should never tell someone to work for you as if they are working for themselves. Some people don’t go all out for themselves. Some people only go halfway. The best approach is to do it like Burger King and “Have It Your Way!”
