Weigh your words before you use them in the office and outside. Some may say it doesn’t matter because talk is cheap, but they are mistaken. Some talks are more expensive than others. Martin Luther King Jr. led a nonviolent movement to break down the walls of segregation for his people and lost his life. Marcus Garvey used “weighted” words to insight repatriation and got deported from America. On the other side of the world, Winston Churchill, former British Prime Minister, had an uncanny way of weighing his words when he won a Nobel Prize for Literature. Because of this great command of weighing words, he used them to persuade troops in World War II. Therefore, talk is not cheap especially when it’s coming from a place of truth mixed with love and good motive. Christ can attest to this because he lost his life as a result of weighted words. So, let your mind sieve each word before it tastes your mouth. Now and then a loose pebble may escape but be swift to plead for forgiveness.
